We had been talking about relocating to Spain for a few years, mainly researching on the internet. We first met Danny in spring 2017 at the Place in the Sun expo at Olympia London. We found him to be very friendly and enthusiastic. Although we were only browsing Danny invited us on viewing trip. As we were not in a position to buy at this stage we declined his offer, but took his details. September 2017, and we attended the Place in the Sun expo again to move things forward. We made contact with a lawyer and currency exchange company and visited several exhibitors concentrating on those with homes for sale on the Costa Blanca. We again met Danny and got chatting about the Murcia region in Costa Blanca South. We had already booked a weeks holiday in Denia (end Nov 17) and a week in Albir (beginning Dec 17) to research properties in Costa Blanca North. Danny offered to show us around the San Pedro area on the Mar Menor. We had visited the Mar Menor on a previous holiday to Torrevejia but were not familiar with the area.

Whilst in Denia we contacted Danny to arrange a visit during our second week, although Albir was a 2 hour drive away he offered to pick us up. We eventually decided to meet half way. Danny showed us around the area from San Pedro to San Javier. We loved the area especially the Mar Menor sea front. It was suggested that we return in a couple of days to be shown around a few properties in the area. An apartment was arranged by Danny so we could spend two days in the area. We met Sue, who met us in Sucina, an inland town where she lives. Sue was also very friendly and well organised. We were shown several properties and fell in love with a townhouse in Santiago De la Ribera. We didn’t give too much away during the visit, but at the end of the day we both looked at each other and knew we had found what we wanted. We made an offer and after some negotiation it was accepted. Paramount were available to answer any queries during the buying process and an move in date was set for 17 Feb 18. Flights booked, we looked forward to moving in. An unforeseen problem arose meaning we could not collect the keys until the 19 Feb. The flights could not be rearranged so Danny stepped up and arranged two nights accommodation. We picked up the keys on Monday afternoon and haven’t looked back.

The area around Santiago de la Ribera is perfect for us. The Mar Menor and the local supermarkets are a 10 minute walk away and we can walk into the town of San Javier within 30 minutes. The local beaches are wonderful and the cities of Murcia and Cartagena are only 30 minute drive away

We came across Paramount Properties quite by accident, and we’re so glad that we did. Thanks to Danny and Sue, and their endless patience, we recently found our perfect property and Danny negotiated a good deal for us. Not only that, but they have helped us with our solicitors, with opening a bank account, and are overseeing the works that we need to have done to the property whilst we are still in England organising our move. They have ferried us around to various meetings when we didn’t have a car, and Sue very kindly met us at the airport when we came to collect our keys. They have been an absolute mine of local information, we would have been lost without them. My property purchase journey began in late 2017. I scoured the internet acquiring information, reading buying guides, studying different areas of the Spanish coasts and identified properties within the areas that caught my interest. A certain property within the Mar Menor region topped my list. I had noticed these properties were being advertised by multiple Estate Agents so I thought It'd be a good idea to contact all with an enquiry as it'd result in the greatest amount of info coming back to me & through each reply I could select which Estate Agent would be best suited to me. This was when Dan and Paramount Properties trumped all. Not only was their reply the most informative it was also very personalised. Instead of the common "Move quickly or you'll miss out" I was asked many questions to determine my wants & needs from the property. It was very clear they wanted to help me find the perfect property for me rather than just sell me a house which was extremely important to me.

Arrangements for a viewing were planned while I visited a friend in Spain end of March 2018, Friday 30th March to be specific. Unknowingly to me that Friday was a Bank Holiday in Spain(Easter weekend). Dan still contacted the relevant people to make sure the apartments would be available to view and sacrificed his time with family & friends to meet me. He was very welcoming upon my arrival even though I was an hour late(ooops!). The viewing experience as a whole was fantastic.

His knowledge of both the apartment & resort they were apart of was second to none. All my questions & queries were answered then & there and any reservations I may have had were eased with the information shared. He also brought me on a trip around the surrounding areas & neighbouring towns recommending some of his favourite places/activities to visit/do. I left the viewing feeling extremely positive and confident I'd found the perfect property for me.

Fast forward to July and that positive feeling was still there. I knew I wanted to push forward so I contacted Paramount Properties to inform them and arrange a 2nd viewing with the view of purchasing. Arrangements were made for me to return beginning of October. I also asked for advice regarding financing the purchase to which they put me in direct contact with a financial representative they have had many dealings with and strongly recommended.

Moving on to September, a few weeks before my return, I received an urgent call from Dan. The latest apartment availability list was released to all agents showing not only limited properties left but an increase in price due to both a booming market & the resort being highly desirable. I was incredibly worried I might miss out. That sentiment was shared by Dan but fortunately for me he had a solution. He recommended finding the best from the remaining properties and submitting a reservation form which would keep the property free from anybody else for a few weeks until my arrival. This would also take 2 days of work for Dan. Day 1 was spent going in & out of all the last remaining units to determine which would be best for me and also negotiating hard to ensure I could acquire the property within my budget. Day 2 majority of the Dan's day was spent sharing pictures, giving live viewings over the phone, sharing his professional opinion and thankfully by end of day a property was selected & secured... Problem averted!
October came round and I arrived in Spain for a 4 day stay. Dan had each of my days planned prior to my arrival. He arranged for me to see the reserved unit we selected and to meet with both the financial & legal representative to ensure all necessary documents were completed for a hassle free purchase. It was a perfectly planned couple of days and I returned home with everything in place. From this point onwards the purchase process would begin and the process itself would be a relatively smooth one thanks to signing the recommended POA. I was consistently updated throughout so I knew exactly what was happening and what stage of the purchase the process was at. After approximately 10 weeks a closing date of 28th December was set. A final payment was required to be in my Spanish bank account available for that date.

It was at this stage the purchase became slightly complicated through nobody else's fault other than my own. I arranged for a money transfer just before Christmas which on the morning of the 28th was still pending. I should of arranged it sooner, silly me! I notified both Dan and my legal representative about the situation in a bit of a panic. Dan's calm demeanor relaxed me alot . His confidence a solution could be found instilled confidence in me. On the day of the 28th my representatives met with the vendors in the Notary to try rearrange the signing of the papers for a future date.

Unfortunately the vendors retained a bullish attitude and even threatened to cancel the contract. They were insistent the signing must happen that day. Things were not looking good. Thankfully Dan is a man full of ingenuity and came up with a plan that could save the purchase from falling apart. Without going into the intricate details, his actions from this point onwards on that day are the reason I'm the proud owner of my Spanish dream property today... Muchas Gracias Amigo!

I am so grateful to Paramount Properties and the team of professionals they align themselves with. Each phase of my purchase was handled in an exceptionally professional & inclusive manner. Throughout my whole journey I was always made to feel valued.

As for Dan himself his energy and positivity is infectious, an incredibly likeable man. He is very approachable, dependable & nothing is too much of an ask for him. His determination & drive at key moments were key to my journey being a success. I've the utmost respect for the man, someone I now consider a friend.
